So what did you do with your truck today?

I know of a guy, I don't know him personally, but I do know his name, who will buy a Three wheeler (not trucks, but similar actions), hold onto it for 3 or 4 months, and then ask 2 or 3 times what he paid for it without doing anything to them. You know that it's bad when his name is widely known in the (relatively) local three wheeler community.
On the truck side of things, a couple of years ago, I saw a brick nose crew cab dually with a bad 7.3 listed for about $1200. It even came with a running 6.9 in the bed to swap into it. A guy bought the truck, hauled it an estimated 4 hours home, took a few more pictures, and relisted for around $3000 without the 6.9 in the bed! It was easy to tell that it was the same truck. It was the same color and had the same, exact dents on it. I blocked that guy's FB profile in a hurry!

I needed to trim back the branches BADLY. I had no other way to do it without a bucket truck or a REALLY tall step ladder. I did order a package of 3 extra chains. I figure that I'll have it for a long time since I'll rarely ever use it. At least it's here when I do need it.

That's right. I just don't have enough room to keep all of mine. Apparently I'm going to have to build something else to keep them in. Eventually, I'm going to have to build something to keep stuff in at my house too.

Well today the DIL & grand-daughters were gone over into NE Oregon somewhere to where her mother lives. Our other 3 boys are scattered all way from Montana to Texas.
So me & Carol just had "another day." "No Big Turkey Dinner."
I did some stuff outside & stuff out in the shop. Then went inside. Carol was taking it easy.
So I made us a couple sliced turkey sandwiches. Sat with Carol for a bit & we munched on our sandwiches.
Then I went outside, walked around a bit, then decided to go set in Bessie for a bit & think.
Couldn't help it but thought about how we used to have big get-to-gathers on Turkey day, our 2 grand-daughters missing their dad, (that son John, that we lost 4+ yr ago), then thought about how things could be worse! Got out of Bessie & went inside & watched Gunsmoke for a while.
Actually sitting in Bessie did me good! I/we've had her since new in 1990, she's one of the family!!!

This morning I went out at about 8:30 to replace the one known bad glow plug and check the driver's side 4. Then I put a piece of cardboard in front of part of the radiator so I'll have heat. Unfortunately, I found one and possibly two return caps that are leaking so my cold starts won't be a lot better. I'm NOT messing with those today. It's 29* with about a 20 MPH wind so I'm done on that part. I wanted to do the work this morning because the temperature's going to drop and the wind will pick up throughout the day.
Later, I'm planning to go visit friends so I'll use the truck for that too.

To add to this, it turned out that I did more work than I had planned on this afternoon. There was more people at the house that I visited than I thought there would be. One guy needed to put a different tire on a rim on his truck. He had permission from another guy close by to use his center pivot (old) style of tire machine. Since he had no clue how to use one, I volunteered to go along to help. I hadn't used that machine for over 10 years and I had forgotten how wore out it was back then. Needless to say, it hadn't gotten any better since them either. We ended up going and getting my slide hammer style of bead breaker to break the beads down. Then I almost got the "new" tire beads to seat when I realized that there was a hole in the sidewall of the tire. That had to come back off and a different one was put on. Not only would the tire machine not break beads loose, it would just barely spin the arm 1/4 of a turn so we had to fight the tires off and back on by hand. Between the temperature and the wind, the bead lube was freezing before the first bead got put over the rim. After WAAAAAY too much effort, he finally had a tire on his truck that holds air. This just goes to prove the old saying right: no good deed goes unpunished!
I got my service truck back in action, drove it a bit over 100 miles this afternoon.
The new ATS system is working great. Wider powerband, runs smooth and has good power. I have the wastegate set pretty low, 8 psi, but still seems to run about the same as 14 psi with the Hypermax kit I had previously. Must be all the airflow. I suppose I’ll bump the wastegate up to that 14-15 psi range, and run with that.
Here’s what I did. This is also in my signature, but that can be difficult to see on mobile devices.
R&D stage one turbo, 3” V band downpipe, Idioit V band uppipe, 3.5” exhaust, Hypermax intercooler, factory turbo air box.
