Just wait for a while. It sounds like he doesn't do much if any PM to the truck. After a while, the starter will give up from all of the extra cranking. Then maybe you can buy it cheap.

In that case,every couple of nights just slide under the truck and start by poking pin holes in the fuel lines,then gradually resort to loosening ground cables/wires.When you see him,say"I hear these trucks are a nightmare to start,with all the air intrusion and super expensive starting system,and don't forget the glow plugs!Eventually he will get tired of fixing stuff,so then you walk up to him and say "I just got my tax refund!".It will work

Well guys after consideration that I'm going to college I decided to sell my truck. It was a hard choice and I really enjoyed all that you guys know. Luckily being young in life I know that this will not be my last IDI. Sure gonna miss the truck and burring my class time on this forum and Wess Pauls site and R&D IDI wanting to spend the money that I don't have on a truck that I'll never see the return on. But that's part of the magic of these old trucks. They where the last true truck, a true Icon, and it was really cool to have and drive one. Thanks for all the info and questions answered and may the leaks plugged and the head gaskets be tight. Thanks for all that you have shared and goodnight.
Ive done this with customer trucks that move huge trailers with 2wd trucks.
I bought 2 power steering seal kits , one for each truck.

You should still check in from time to time. That way, you'll regret selling the truck more, keep the IDI fire burning hotter, and keep the desire to own another one strong. I doubt that anyone will ask you to leave just because you sold your truck.

I can vouch that they won’t. And while I’m very rarely an active participant, I still love watching what y’all do with these trucks, and the new guys coming in with new projects. By the time I get another, might have a better idea what I’m doing!

79Jasper hasn't had an IDI in years. He still shows up here now and then. Another thing to remember is that nobody has the exact same experiences as you. Your experiences may help someone in the future with an issue that nobody else has had except for you two.
Plans are to start putting the truck back together minus turbo this weekend. I'll have to put the na valve covers back on and rob the injector pump off my 6.9 parts truck so I can run it. I've run out of patience and I need my truck and shop space back.

I’ve decided to intercool my 94 idit. I have Wes’s 3583 turbo and 90cc pump, and the truck pulls real well, just hot. I’ve got everything ordered and on its way. Piping kit showed up today. I was able to source all my materials for around $200, including the intercooler. The setup is going to be similar to Wes’s bolt on kit with a 3x31x12 cooler and 2.5 inch piping. My only real difference from @Thewespaul design is that I haven’t figured out what I’m going to do with the intake hat yet. For now I think I will rotate the stock hat and use it that way until I can afford one of Wes’s intake hats. I’ll post pictures as I go and hopefully nothing will go too terribly wrong when I attempt the install
