yeah it was the yoke itself that broke... I'm pretty sure that some of the bolts must've been loose holding the front driveline to the yoke and it seemed as though it worked itself loose and then got enough torque somehow while it was wobbling out to break the yoke. I suppose it's possible the...
I drive a 1992 F350 four door longbed and the knuckle on the output shaft for the transfer case that goes to my front driveline busted today on the road and rendered my transfer case useless. I have a 1990 F250 and I need to know if the transfer case from it is interchangeable with the 1992...
I've been trying to help a friend get his 1994 extended cab F250 running. So far we know that his truck turns over and will run on ether just fine of course with the glowplugs disconnected. Diagnostically his ignition is working because his chime works and starter works. But when his key is...
Not a big issue but your terminology is backwards. Higher Viscosity = Thicker Fluid. Lower Viscosity = Thinner Fluid. Looks like everyone understood what you meant but you might confuse some people when you start saying high viscosity as in easier flowing and easier filtered.

Hi Everyone,
For anyone who has the time and chance to can I get the torque spec for body mount bolts. I need to fix mine because I used cheap threaded rod when I originally replaced my body mounts since I was in a hurry and that's all I had handy. I'm going to go buy some grade 8 bolts...
Looks good. I see a plow frame though so you might want to look into new front springs and checking out the front end really well. If it's been used heavily as a plow truck the extra front end weight and hard life can kill the springs and give the front end a good workout. Especially the 4x4...
Next time you send it just line the inside of the box with lead and put a picture of Bin Laden inside... that ought to screw with the postal/customs idiots.
Hi everyone,
I've got a 1990 F250 supercab with a 7.3 IDI and 5 speed manual. I'm trying to get it ready because I plan on selling it. One of the problems that I need to fix is that when you turn the key to start the truck it bottoms out without setting off the starter. Additionally in a...
I'm pretty sure that my waterpump is beginning to go out on my F350. Being that the 7.3IDI is an International engine I was just wondering if there is any difference between the International waterpump and one from Ford?
...just asking since I'd rather bring my business to the International...
Ah ok... I might have confused ZF5 with ZF6 back when I heard about one of these manual transmissions overheating. It's been so long since I had heard about it that I'm not sure I could even find the thread/article where I read about it.
Well I've got a truck with a ZF5 in it and between 168K and 175K miles on it and so far it shifts ok. I've noticed that a few of the synchronizers are starting to go out on it so I have to hesitate before shifting it into 3rd and 5th gear or it'll grind slightly just as it goes into those gears...
I'm not sure what the current brand of u joint is that is in my truck at the moment since I've never serviced them... but I was told about a year ago when I got an alignment that they were starting to become a bit loose.
@ White Trash... If what you say is true that is interesting but I'm...
I've seen some posts here on oilburners talking about people switching out their front axle with a Dana 60... and I'm pretty sure I've got a sterling 10.25 rear axle but I'm not exactly sure what the axle is under the front end of my truck. I was under the impression that it was a D60 under the...
Up here in Fairbanks, AK the black vinyl type stuff with button snaps on it so it can be snapped on and off over the front grill of the truck seem to be pretty popular. The other thing that I've found convenient cheap and easy is take a piece of cardboard and cut it to block off some of the...
The unfortunate thing in my opinion though is that the newest ford diesel power plant does not come with the option for a standard transmission... Although I must say that it seems as though the automatics nowadays are built a bit more rugged from the factory than the autos from the IDI...
