Hey guys, search didn't work so well. My question is, where can I get a flywheel that bolts up to a 6.9 engine so I can use my ZF 5 speed? hopefully this is possible---Rob

7.3 flywheel should work as long as its for an NA. Crank pattern etc. should be the same I believe.

Hope towcat chimes in on this one but I believe the 7.3 na wheel is what you want.

Will a 6.9 pull a 5th gear?

Mine is n/a with 3.07 rear gears. Unloaded I never grab 4th for hills of any grade. Anything over 3k on the hitch and she greatly appreciated 4th on anything other than flat ground to keep egts down. Very rarely touch 5th towing over 8k

1983 f350 6.9 zf5 2wd srw single cab long bed. Facet duralift, optima red tops, bfg all terrains, 4" exhaust from y pipe back, autometer z series pyro, pump turned up 2 flats

Mine barely pulls 4th with 3.55 gears and 285-75-16 tires on flat ground. Any hill and I drop to 3rd.

Mine will only run about 60mph at the fuel shut off in 3rd. There's a highway out here I use frequently with 65/70mph speed limit :(. 245/75r16 tires. Can't wait to get my 3.73 10.25 swapped in lol
