Putting a cummins / 2wd Getrag / Ford Divorced NP205 in my 1987 F350 CCLB 4x4 truck. Wanted to see if I could shoehorn the factory crossmember for the divorced case to keep it somewhat original looking and functioning. Anyone?

I saw a frame cross section with that crossmember sell on ebay for 300 + shipping recently. Well the hunt continues.

I have and currently drive a 1974 F250 highboy and think the divorced transfer cases were only used on 1977 & earlier F250 4x4. If you did find one, I think the frame is narrower on these trucks, therefore it would require modification to fit your 87. It would likely be easier to simply make one as you suggested.

Actually that is good news that the older frames are narrower. That means I actually have a chance at wedging the crossmember in from below, and then easy as pie to just make beefy brackets that bridge the gap.

Early Fords came with Dana 24 tcase divorced mount as well 2 speed units tough as nails like a NP 205 it could be used to get things going! then along comes a 205 one day...also there where...but these are super duper rare...divorced 203's and if ever I find one I'm going to snag onto it for a divorced 203/205 doubled tcase :sly
