ok I lied, I didnt have a Fram PH2825 on hand to gut and inspect

I bought ProMotive PH4457 as the store didnt have PH2825 and cross referred to this filter.

Here's the info....

Fram P1654A's filter media is measured as 4"x115" which equals 460in^2 total area

ProMotive PH4457's filter media is measured as 3"x43" which equals 129in^2 total area

P1654A is 357% bigger than the current ones I'm using!!!!!! and it's 25 micron verses PH2825's 20 micron so this one should last me a whole lot longer and FAR cheaper! ;Really

Let the pics speaks for itself

Is that a 1x12 thread? I use a Napa 1769 filter for my upflow tank.
But I use about 6 different filters to process my oil.
If you are only using that one filter, I am sorry to say but you are bypassing the filter because that is an SLUBE filter.
You see the cheapie stamped steel bypass in your pictures?
You have to use a HYDRAULIC filter if you want to properly filter fuel oil.

I get all my oil filtered down to 10 micron using a Parker Filter Cart that uses two cartridge filters.
for my final filtering process.
just a thought there...

What filter you're referring about?

The Fram PH2825 will completely blocks all flow when clogged.

The Fram P1654A is a hydraulic filter and when I disassembled it, no way I can see anything will bypass the filter, same goes for the Promotive PH4457 filter.

I see the pictures, I notice the thin stamped steel plate, that to me looks like a bypass, But I do see hydraulic filter right on the filter case. Maybe I am mistaken. We are looking at a Fram and even a cheaper brand.

In any case with filtration you always have the option of upgrading, and even my setup that I have and think is superior to most others who use wmo I still
Saving for upgraded filtration.

Well glad to see your trying your best and keep working the wmo!

Im using 2 water filters (20 micron and 5 micron)... then a cimtek 2 micron... processed nearly 150 gallons and have yet to plug a filter.

Pretty cheap setup and cheap to maintain.

The website for the "cheap" fram oil filters turned out to be very deceptiving! It's $5 plus $10 ea to ship!! Ripoff!

I'll buy locally only and it's still more bang for the buck than what I used to run, PH2825 due to the much more filtering capacity.

I'll do water/**** injection in the near future to control the smoke.
