Windshield Washer Nozzle

I need one of these. Mine has been plugged up so often that now I feel like I have never had one that works. All the syringes I have used in this has not cleaned it out yet. Seems all I do is push the crude back down in the nozzle. Tried lime away too. Nopw... Also I found out these spray nozzles can be adjusted to hit any part of the windshield. But after many years of water crude evaporating in them they freeze up. Sadly the cowl wil have to be removed for access to this nozzle... We all know thats a sucky job too...

What years of trucks do those come on?
I noticed the ad said "jet kit," was that some sort of typo? Or is that the adjustable part you speak of?

IIRC 1980-1991 trucks use one nozzle assembly, and '92-'97 trucks use a different design.

The '80-'91 design uses a single assembly with two jets; one goes to the port side and the other to the starboard side. IIRC the '92-'97 went with two separate assemblies; not sure if each unit has one or two nozzles...

Your 89 should have 2 squirters.take the valance panel off and remove the squirters.take them apart and clean them out.the top and bottom slide apart.put them back in and you should be good to go.

I cant post pics but I can text or email them.I might have a squirter that I can pull apart to show you.

Never let the washer reservoir get near empty. The lines can be flushed with air pressure.

I'm pretty sure the 80-91 trucks all used a single nozzle design and you don't have to remove the cowl panel to get it out. All you have to do is follow the fluid line to the nozzle under the cowl, from the engine bay, pull the hose off of it and then push up on the barb of the nozzle. It should just pop out.
Gary I had issues like yours with my brown trucks nozzle. I'd clean it out, only to have it plug up after a 2 or 3 second spray of fluid. I finally got fed up with it over christmas break and pulled the whole system out, bottle-hose-nozzle. I cleaned the nozzle out in the sink, pulled the bottle apart, cleaned the crap out of it and then resealed the lid to the bottle. I discovered my contaminants were coming from the hose, it had deteriorated over time and little particles of the hose were plugging the nozzle up. I ditched the rubber hose for a silicone vacuum/boost hose I had bought for my turbo eclipse. It works awesome now!

My 88 has one, my 94 and brothers 93 both have two. I could see what Sean said to be a big part of the problem. On my brothers 93, the pump rotor was MIA.

This thread reminds me of how dumb I was about my w-s-washer nozzles for about the first twenty-plus years that I owned my 1985.

For all those years, I had one squirter that shot plumb over the glass and onto the top of the sleeper; the other sprayed the lower outside corner of the glass; neither did any good at all.

I tried all manner of tricks to set things aright, all to no avail.

Then, along came the internet and some dear soul on this very site showed me some nice pictures and explained how simple it was to aim the squirters and changed my life forever.

The two little squirters are like little machine-gun turrets, rotating around on a ball-socket.

I just poked a pin in each one and easily directed them to exactly where I wanted.



For what it is worth, for the last several years (more years than the factory unit survived), I have had a generic universal fit-all six-dollar Walmart washer-pump that has more pressure and volume by far than any factory washer-pump I have ever used.

Midnight rider, I haven't seen those. Weirdly enough I'm at Walmart a lot and go down every automotive aisle each time. Would you be able to get a picture of the pump?
