“I walked into my local NAPA and asked for clear fuel line that’s rated for diesel. Since it’s part of the return system, it’s on the low‑pressure side, so that type of hose is perfectly fine.”
“If it were me, I’d call NAPA first and have them confirm the part number for the diesel‑rated hose. I bought one identical to the hose shown in the picture.” It worked and is still in use on my entire fuel return system from the port next to the Schrader valve to the return line. “I ran a new line from the selector valve to the Edelbrock electric micro‑pump mounted high on the frame, just past the tank selector. I ditched that garbage hard blue plastic line and replaced it with proper heavy black fuel hose. I removed the POS lift pump entirely and fabricated a block‑off plate using a generic AutoZone cover that happened to have the correct bolt spacing. I trimmed the excess metal off the plate with a bench grinder and shortened the original bolts by about 3/8 inch.
I removed the loop on the lift‑pump inlet side, hacksawed the flare‑nut end off the metal line going to the filter, and installed the recommended Edelbrock fuel‑pump relay kit. The injector pump’s FSS wire is used as the trigger to open the relay and power the micro electric pump.
Since doing all this, I haven’t had a single issue with the fuel system — the engine fires before the starter even makes a full revolution.”**
