Brothers,

What make the IDI fun is lack of electrical "engine related" stuff!

However, I still got to deal with the accessories. My heater/AC fan blows the 30 amp fuse right away. I've just looked for anything strange so far and have noticed nothing. Any experience with this? Any thoughts where to start?

Winter and the need for a defroster is right around the corner!

Thanks,

John

Try inserting a light bulb (test light) in place of the blower motor. You likely have a bad motor, but this (or a resistance test of the motor) would help. If the fuse does not blow with the bulb, the blower is suspect. If it blows anyway, there is also a resistor pack.

I agree with James. Another thing to try would be to just disconnect the motor and turn the switch on. If you have a short to ground, it might blow the fuse and then you can probably rule out the motor as the cause.
