Ummm,I need help.....seriously......I have had an evil thought.....Not the good type either.I actually gave it thought to convert White Lightning over to a I6 truck and build up on the factory turbo setup and put it back in the E......Help!I gotta either find the funds to get the 94 rebuilt or find a good take out C or K code engine to put in WL......

I hate to say it but part out Enterprise get the money and either rebuild a 7.3 for the 94 or spend the 10 grand and Cumminsfy it.

Travis spent alot of time and money on Enterprise something I wouldn't have done it was :frustrate seeing him trying to make the truck run. He is so much better off what he has now.

You do have to evaluate is the 94 worth spending the money on aswell especially chassis wise will the truck last if you dump minimum 6 grand into it.

C'mon, you know you want to go Cummins ;Poke -Flame Thr :backoff

Seriously, wouldn't putting a 6BT in there be more expensive than getting another IDI to put in WL?

Yea....I will have to keep thinking that. The money wasn't the part that was dragging me over there....was thinking Power.....but if I keep thinking about cost maybe I can fight off these urges. The 94 is in too good of condition to bastardize. The E well....it just has too much of a following to either kill or convert.

Be a Cummins brother! I'm planning to convert my truck to a Cummins when the IDI dies. My perception is that I can't get power out of an IDI. All my requests for information on DPS' forums have gone unanswered (which in and of itself leaves a bad taste in my mouth--asking a knowledgeable guy who runs a business (and presumably reads his own message boards) how to power up a truck and not getting a reply isn't cool). Not very businesslike, especially since, if I recall, I'd indicated pretty strongly I'd be willing to spend the cash for a more powerful IDI rebuild done by his business.

There's loads of Cummins performance stuff out there, and the body on the White Lightning probably isn't that bad. Mine is pretty good. Just seems a waste to lose a good chassis when you can get a loan, put the Cummins in, and be driving down the road with a real sleeper of a truck that has all the power you want, is upgradeable, and gets good mileage.

Just my $0.02--but hey... you asked!

Good points made by all. I would like to see a Cummins buildup by one of us. It would give us all an idea of what costs and such would be. If you could drop a Cummins in for less than 5-6K bucks, that would be a bargain. But if it going to cost alot more than that, you are getting within spitting distance of just buying a whole nother truck. Scotty

Travis, did I miss something - what's up with the "for rent" notice?

Just swapping things around to keep everyone on their toes... I plan on changing it from time to time which I'll think of something else here in few days... I have a couple of idears rolling around in the old noggin but haven't decided which one I like best... LOL

I'm all for throwing a Cummins at anything, after owning one.

If you really want to get sick & wrong, I know a guy that put a 8.2 'penny pincher' Detroit, in a StooperDuty.

I bet he'd be happy to chat at ya about it.

freighttrain,

I'm about 1.5-2 hrs north of you. I'll have to come down to Gadsden to see your project when you get it going good.
