What exhausts work with Banks (other than Banks)?

So, let's just hypothesize that I wanted to put a 4" exhaust on the truck. No reason, really. I know lots of folks install kits made for OBS Powerstrokes onto our trucks. Would a kit like this bolt into my bricknose, which has a Banks Sidewinder turbo installed? Ideally, I'd like something that bolts to the downpipe and goes from there.

Been eyeing one of those Diamond Eye systems everyone seemed to like....

the 7.3 PSD downpipe and the brick nose with a banks turbo downpipe are in a similar location so a PSD exhaust could come close to fitting. I don't think it would be a direct bolt up.

log truck (which is just an extra long version of chip trucks exhaust lol)

banks down pipe.
banks intermediate pipe (just front section.) this connects the odd sized banks dp to a 3" pipe and bends down to be parallel with the trucks underside.came with kit this time! saved me some coin.nice bonus.
3" to 3.5" adapter - walker 41981
a stick of 3.5" pipe
"big truck muffler" - walker 21470
short section of 3.5" pipe (just enough to hook muffler to adapter below)
3.5 to 4" adapter - summit 652269
4" tail pipe - dynomax 54387
then some clamps and hangers of course.

How? Most other people have been using psd kits for a long time.

you've got to remember most people are in debt too.doesn't mean it's the right way to live.;)

how will a banks downpipe hook to his first gen idi banks? so this is no use to him right? what's next in line......2 or 3' of pipe.
there is no muffler it says,so whats next? a tail pipe.

are you seeing something more to it that's usable to him?

it's 409SS i get it.but normal exhaust lasts 15-20 years in snow country salted roads.he's in CA.so that's pointless because there, exhaust probably goes for 20-30 years (notice Brain says he's using conduit.goes to show ya how long stuff can last there) how long ya gunna own the same truck? lol.
i don't see a short section of a stick of pipe and tailpipe being worth 3 Benjamin's.could be to someone.......just not me.:D

I may be mistaken'
The link provided shows a pic,,, clearly states " picture may be a representation" the internets sweetheart statement!
If indeed the product has mo muffler would it not be a straight pipe ( muffler delete) setup?

Hmmm brb
Gunna go see bout this tidbit.

Awe heck' this is on amazon( gunna be a pita to get a real answer.

If you need an aditional muffler for the above I agree its way pricey!

From the makers site...
The -rp is an add on delete pipe option.
No pircing available .
So that price SHOULD include the extra pipe to replace the muffler?!

@Pianoman
put a dynomax 4 inch if I remember right on his 86 it was a bolt in replacement pricey tho $400

actually this was a 3 stepped kit. 2.25 - 3 - 4" right before muffler
complete new exhaust from the exhaust manifolds back, over the rearend.
with hangers and new through muffler.
sounded killer and went in like clockwork. easy peazy.

when i installed it, i didnt like the hangers, so we did a few mods, and i gave him some stock bracketery from a parts truck i had.
his old exhaust was not stock.

well worth the 400 bucks!

that would only get him a usable 2 or 3' stick of pipe and a tailpipe for $300......pricey.
Fo you have first hand experience with this kit?

Many Members on this forum and others have used the OBS kits and have had good luck with fitment.

For me it was cheaper to have a shop build mine of course it was 2 1/2 inch.

It's a straight pipe kit. Hangers, clamps, etc. I had a good 5 foot or so of pipe leftover on my RC. Goes all the way out the back, factory exit.
Part way down the downpipe is where the 4" starts.

Not sure about downpipe on the wastegated Banks but on my early kit it comes out pretty much straight back with no obstructions. 8' stick of 3" pipe cut to length with a 90* mandrel out the side. Add a pair of hangers and a few clamps and done, cheap and easy.

Why so many people with monstrous sized pipe? Mine is 3" downpipe, going any larger it just added cost and PITA to source and fit parts for zero benefit.
