Well, Glow Plug controller.

So after work today i go out and start my truck, Cycle the plugs, fire the truck and go back into the break room to let it warm up. About 10 min later i got out and get into it and i see the glowplug light is on. So shut the truck down and restart and the light did not turn on. So im either thinking the contoroller took a crap, Its is only 9 months old. , Or the light is bad. Im sure my new Beru glow plugs are now junk. I will check tomorrow. Any ideas? Yes it is a 6.9 contoller.

Yep that latching relay failed in the ON position and bit you in the butt. I would switch to a momentary toggle and 12V glow plugs from a 5.7 if it were mine, or spend the bucks to convert to a 7.3 style system. You could still use the ZD-1A berus with a momentary toggle but then you have to be very careful about not letting the switch on for more than 8-10 seconds. The 12V plugs would take longer to heat up but it is practically impossible to burn them up plus they will fit your current harness and connectors. I think Micheal Fowler is running them at the moment. I think the plugs you want are AC Delco 7G if you can find them, you can look for a 1979 Olds diesel Delta 88 if you need to search based on a particular car/truck. Be careful getting those old glows out. At least bring the pistons all to TDC when you're working on them so if a tip breaks off you can suck it out through the injector hole and not have to pull the head.

Im hoping they are not too bad. I put berus in about 3 weeks ago. I hope they are not as bad as the autolights i took out.
