I have a new turbo pump from DIS and will be installing it on my turbo modified 7.3 motor. Should I turn it up before or after I get things timed and running?. I just really hate to get diesel all over a new valley pan and the backside of the motor. Plus its really easier doing it on the bench. What are your thoughts...

Do it now while it is out of the truck and away from dirt.Your going to do it anyway so why not do it when it is easiest.Turning it up won't change the timing or anything normal.

The only caviat to turning it up before hand, is the possibility of voiding the warranty on a pump that is not yet known to be good.
