Tranny cooler on 2k

I just got a 10x20" tranny cooler from Summit to get the temps down. I was thinking of mounting it right behind the A/C condenser coil right above the existing cooler, anyone have any better ideas?

I believe that most that plumb in an auxiliary cooler along with the factor cooler in ther radiator plumb it like this:

Transmission Out - Radiator Cooler - Aux Cooler - Transmission In

Somewhat oversimplified, but from what I remember, you want the aux cooler last, because, under certain conditions, if the aux cooler is first, then the radiator cooler, the radiator cooler could put heat BACK INTO the fluid. If the aux cooler is doing a good job, and it cools the fluid to 120 degrees, and the fluid goes into the radiator, and the radiator is at 150 degrees... warm will move toward cool, so in this case you will put heat into the fluid instead of removing it....

That is what I was thinking but I don't know which is the in and which is the out on the radiator. :dunno My Haynes manual is ****.

I was also thinking of plumbing it in parallel with the AUX cooler to decrease flow resistance.

In reality I will probably do whateve is easiest, no matter what it will be better than it was. :thumbsup:

"The ATF return line is the line to the rear of the tranny.

You want to disconnect that line from the liquid cooler on the radiator.

Add a fitting to the liquid cooler. Run a line from that fitting to your new cooler. Then run a line from the new cooler, back to the return line for the tranny.

This will keep the liquid cooler in the loop. That cooler will save your butt on a hard reverse move."

Parallel is the way to go. As for the rad cooler, it doesn't make a difference as to which way you hook it up. It will flow either direction.
