I hate those. I think it's actually just 3 fuses added in parallel to make the amperage. About the only option is plastic. Either a plastic box or just a sheet of plastic to isolate it. On dads winch I enclosed all that in a section of PVC pipe but that's because it travels from tractor to truck cable and all.

That's a new one on me, never seen anything like that.
What size 12VDC circuit breaker do you need? Pretty sure I have some 10 - 15 - 20 - 30 and maybe a couple of 50 amp. There self resetting and screw mounting.
Need a pic?

Those are probably 50 or 100 amps a piece. For a total of 150-300 amps.

Big circuit breaker is a great idea.

Kill is a good idea too.

I used to do a lot of four wheeling in a Jeep I built. I put a Warn 8000 pound pull ***** on it and I used a CAT KEY that was rated for something like 1000 amps. I put it between the battery and the winch. No fuses or breakers. Worked perfectly for 20 some years.

Here's what I did. I cut two notches in this J box.
Maybe a little redneck but it works.
