This cant be right??

Went to turn up my ip pump today, but when I removed the cover plate fuel came gushing out. Im not very knowledgeable about these pumps but this cant be right. Anyone ever seen this?

If you are talking about the triangle shaped plate on the passenger side of the pump. You are correct. Fuel will come out.

And what kind of tags would that be... I'm guessing you ment to say rags. What I do is place a few paper towels in a 1 gallon ziploc bag. Then place that under the injection pump towards the intake horn. As fuel comes out most if not all of it gets collected by the bag. Then theres no mess to clean up. Another good idea is to place a rag in the same place if you are removing the injection pump. Then if any nuts, washers or small bolts fall into the valley pan they are caught before they end up back at thecrd area.
