and as nice as it was it was going to cost too much to get back on the road.
registration was going to cost 3k-ish
Unless you sold it to someone out of state so they could deal with the registration away from Commiefornia. I have to admit that the tailpipes gave the engine away.;)

Didn't they also have left hand threads on the driver's side lug nuts too? I think I had one years ago and it did come out of a 1984 F250.
I only ever saw the left hand thread on the dana 70 dual wheel hubs . I had 6 of these Dana70s at one time , but I couldn't even break 1 so I just sold them off except for 1 spare for parts. Dana 60 full float E250/350 single wheel hubs fit these diffs and made the external drum improvement.

sorry not trying to hyjack.

I was going to unbolt the entire rear suspension and swap. The F350 spring arent in the best shape. This is only until I can get $350 or so for new springs.

1983 and 1984 and only F250, and if I recall correct only on 460 and 6.9 diesel. the Dana 70s were rare and all the ones I saved were powerlock equipped. a great offroading diff , very smooth centre housing slip through the mud like butta and still had 35spline axles, BUT they only came with internal drums on hubs.

I think it had to be a Supercab too. Or at least have supercab's higher GVWR. The std cab diesel a buddy had was 3.07 geared; a Dana 61.

most of mine were from supercab 4x4s, and only 1 was from a diesel and it had a dana44 TTB front :rotflmao. rest were from 460 trucks. all the ones I got my hands on were 3.73 ratio . the dana 61 was the only way to get a tall ratio , they had 3.07 and 3.31s .

I put a 3.55 geared rear from a mid-'90s F-250 gasser under my '91 F-350 7.3, had to get a 1330/1350 cross U-joint to connect it all. Evidently Ford used 3 different U-joint sizes with the Sterling rear: the Spicer 1330, Spicer 1350, and a so-called 'Ford 1330' that's really a 'Detroit' U-joint. Good luck!
