other than you have a hole in the valley pan, i dont see a reason not to.

i would put a baffle in it so youre not draining over the rockers.

I was trying to figure out a way to use a positive connection and skip the grommet that I find have.

I thought about doing something like that. Weirds me out a little having something that could fall into the engine though.

Am I just paranoid?

im with you there.
but you could always grab something in steel and tack it to the bottom of the pan.
but the reality is....
its only going to fall into the valley pan. wont fall underneath.
would most likely just sit ontop of the dog bone tray.
but dont take my word for it.lol

i would be more worried about something interfering with the valve train keep your rockers clear!

I would say depends where you're mounting the turbo.
In factory location, I would stick with the valley pan.
If off to the passenger side, could even use the fuel pump block off plate.

when something has proven to work for 20+ years, this is a good sign to go ahead and accept it as acceptable.:D
so long as you punch out holes with a punch/screwdriver and black rtv seal the grommet, then the valley pan has worked for many, many millions of combined miles for us.

Yeah well, this configuration is not 20 years of tried and tested. [emoji6]

Thank you for this, I was looking for a place to run an auto oil drain for the oil condensed from the cdr in my intercooler. I was going to tap the valve cover but this will be much easier and better.

If you try anything fancy with your turbo drain, just know that no part of the drain system should be higher than where the turbo drain outlet hole is. Otherwise, you will leak oil out of the turbo shaft.
