Got to see Mike's old truck last night. Hard to believe it went from whereever Mike is out in California, to a dusty ex-lumber yard shed along the Amtrak mainline in down town Parksburg. Gee Mike, what did you do to the hood? Aside from that, what I could see of it (no keys, doors locked) looked pretty good, including the fumitomo valve. Hopefully Chris will let me know when I can get a more indepth tour. As an interesting side note, about the time Chris' girlfriend got in the Bronco to show me where the truck was, my wife called with a failing electrical system on the Windstar. I had to walk her through wiggling her battery cable, while confessing that I had another woman in the truck. DID NOT look good. ;p

Most people wouldn't have confessed. Present company NOT included of course Way I see it, if I tried to get away with something like that, I'd be involved in an accident & have some SERIOUS explaining to do

I had hoped to see the truck today. But alas, it did not show up. I was at the apextrans compound last night getting some bling for the rally ...pics soon...

Man this thread has really taken a turn for the worse!! From Mel being in the truck with another woman to Joe being at some dude's house getting Bling!! Yikes what's this world coming to!!!

Yeah... That Fumoto valve actually is really nice for draining oil IF you overfill... but it sure does make the process slow if you're just draining the system for an oil change.

I liked having it, but usually just nixed the whole deal when changing oil.

That hood just went to heck once I started trying to wax it. Dunno what happened... See what I meant about the paint, though? The truck was repainted--I think someone had to have sandblasted the truck--scratches all over the rear window and all over the door handles.

Anyway... she was a good truck--I just got too power hungry and wanted something a bit more comfortable for the family. We may be getting rid of all vehicles in the family except for the new Dodge... my wife's Chevy is too light duty for pulling even her small horse trailer. I gave it too much credit, until I drove that trailer full of yard debris to the dump.

One of these days, I'll be in a place where I can do a ground-up refurb of an IDI similar to Chris' '91... For now, it is too hard to move more than 2 vehicles from place to place in the military... the expenses associated with moving a third vehicle are not reimbursable.

Hey hey hey ***? I only bat from 1 side of the plate . If it will make things sound more man-ly for ya, we were using nasty chemicals that burn the skin on contact, an air rachet, & a big electric sander/polisher.
Joe drank a beer & I had a couple big pinches of ***** jammed in my lip most of the nite. Starting to sound like Redneckville via Fallston if ya ask me.

Hey hey hey ***? I only bat from 1 side of the plate . If it will make things sound more man-ly for ya, we were using nasty chemicals that burn the skin on contact, an air rachet, & a big electric sander/polisher.

Yeah, I got ***** with a set of running boards & a mud flap. I STRIPPED them with aircraft stripper, SQUIRTED them down with cold water, & POLISHED them with a BIG TOOL

Yep, stripped the clear coat off of my alum. diamond plate running boards and polished them to a very nice shine.

Wow just saw the pics on the other thread!! I don't care what ya'll were doing...that looks really good!! I remember what those running boards looked like! That's quite an amazing transformation, what was it you used exactly to clean em? Aircraft stripper? I don't suppose that's something the common man can get is it? Great job!!

We sold it at our parts store! Always had a spray can or two of the stuff around still keep a couple here in the shop as well.

Yep, aircraft stripper. You can find it in any auto body supply store. This thread has gone way off topic so, Chris if you want your boards polished on the new addition, I'll do it for ya. There, back on topic
