Update

Got to take a better look at it today. The Pony Injector Express made it's drop off of cargo, and picked up a sack of gold to take to the bank. While there, I got to see it in the daylight, and fire it up. Over all, I'd say it's in very good shape. Some things that need attention that I see:

  • Turbo hat to intake seal is in need of a new gasket. Lots of CDR blowby deposits over the whole intake area.
  • Recovery bottle was empty, but radiator was full. Could just be low, or may indicate a leak in the recovery bottle hose.
  • That Banks air cleaner needs to go the route of "John Air"
  • I'd put a splash sheild on that Banks Transcommand unit.
  • Drivers side power door lock motor is siezed and will need replacement.
  • Something weird about those battery terminals that don't seat on the battery all the way. I'd investigate.
  • Motor lopes slightly. Probably time to pull the injectors and get them tested.

Of course I'd also ditch the CDR and go with an RDT, but that's just me. It already has the banks adapter, so it's good to go.

Not sure why Chris had an extra set of injectors on the kitchen counter. His girlfriend said something about them going to work with him. cookoo I told her not to get them confused with the ones in the DPS box. LOL

:***: I'm sure Chris won't get them confused.

Don't worry, I won't get those shiny clean looking DPS Stage 1's confused.
Pony Express Delivery was completed today in the new ride.
Will begin work on above mentioned items as well as some help on the paint job.
Joe and Mel will get me straight with the items that need to be worked on the truck.
Besides Apextrans owes me and since I do not have running boards to polish up, I guess we will strike another deal for him hijacking my thread. :D

When the Stage1's do arrive, we should get Joe over with his.
Put the injectors in your truck, Joes truck, and then we can see if I need a complete set of Stage1's for mine. As Mel said, my 91 is lopeing.
The truck sounds much like Joes at idle, so there would be at least one injector that needs work.

I've been PM'ing with Ken & my stuff should be here today. They tried to deliver yesterday but my wife must not have been here or something. I've been reading Mel's articles on these two items & may give it a go by my lonesome. I've got a constant smell of raw diesel now & the truck really runs like dooky. Not sure how much longer it will hold out. We'll see though. I'm all for a "group install"

The goodies just showed up. Everything looks good as far as I can tell. Any external screw I see is coated with paint of some sort so that Ken would know if you screwed with it, so where is this external fuel screw?

Thanks Joe.

Ok, so is anyone going to play with that screw before they install? Mine appears to be out pretty far but I don't know if that's the factory setting or Ken's doing.

I don't recall giving him much if any info specific to my truck. Just that it was turbo'd & the year. Maybe that's all he needs?

New Paint!!!! Mmmmmm.......

Sounds like that old truck will be getting some TLC. I'm interested in hearing how the Stage I injectors wake her up. The injectors that are on her now are supposed to be the turbo injectors for the early PSDs.

New Paint. :) Heheheheheh. I'm green with envy!
