Some brake issues...

Yeah I was pretty surprised that it was that bad... that is the worst rust I have found on the truck yet... I am pretty sure it has been mostly a Cali or at least desert truck and have seen little more than surface rust everywhere. I think maybe someone managed to spill some brake fluid behind the vacuum chamber... that would explain how it got that bad.

Makes sense to me - brake fluid ate the paint and then moisture set in and finished the job.

there is a run in that primer. Sorry, I am going to find a longer spring for my pump as I never changed it ,just the reservoir when I added hydro, it moans till you give it some rpm, so low flow/pressure is the most likely culprit.

I would have made a 2 section pump for the cummins , then you would have had the best fluid supply for both systems.

guess how much I care... you can see how pretty the rest of the firewall is.

I was actually planning on blasting and primer/painting the whole engine bay clean but the project has since been rushed a little and I had to pass on that.

The stock modified pump should be just fine for the braking and steering systems. I will eventually add another either belt-driven or PTO hydraulic pump to power a winch as well as some other fun stuff.
