401. Otherwise known as a +.060" 390.

That helps, but I am normally too impatient and start working while the car is still wet, which leads to further messes.
My issue is that too pressure wash it, you have to take every single piece apart and wash it from all sides inside and out......I dont do frame off restorations........she knew what she was getting into.....and its usually her stuff im working on......

Well, after a long hiatus, I finally bought back my old 85 turbo IDI bullnose but for my wife. And then picked up an 84 single cab NA IDI for myself to work on as a project. Got a “spare” injection pump into the 84 and took it around the block today. Definitely needs work but it’s a start for a cool project truck.

Fuel leak the last few weeks. Of course it was way back in where you couldn't exactly see. Bought a lift pump and dropped it in today. Kind of a train wreck of muck to get the old (original 215k miles ???) one out, but the new one dropped right in. Will let you all know how long it lasts :(

Purring like a champ and no more mess in the drive :)

Cheers, Pete

Probly a really bad idea but I guess Im buying a 92 7.3 engine tonight for 700 to put into my 83 F250 that I blew up about 6 years ago. A little more money than I wanted to spend and Id rather have a 6.9 but IDIs are getting hard to find around here, I already missed out on a couple on marketplace. Wishing I would have never scrapped the other 2 6.9 I had.
So I guess Ill have to do a bunch of learning on here again, and cross my fingers that the mice havent gotten into anything too major.

It depends on the year. It may have been a Daimler product.
1995. Overheated, probably zero compression at 140k. But it is so clean and 100% original it looks like a time capsule. Couldn't pass up for $400. And it came with a FULL TANK. I'll tear into this 5.2 probably after my dad's truck is done.

318 from those years is pretty easy to find/fix/replace/etc. That's a nice score.
