I also have the crossover return line running from #1 injector underneath the intake manifold, back to the T at the rear of the engine. There was both regular and braided fuel line included in the return line kit, but there wasn't enough to do the entire system the way I have it with either type. I compromised by using the regular line for everything except the crossover that runs under the intake. I figured that the braided is probably more abrasion resistant so that's why I used it there. You can see in the picture where the last line had been rubbing on the intake under the new line. If anyone does this type of crossover, I did find a great trick to share. You can take one of the caps from the new injectors, the ones that goes on the upper, threaded part, slide it over the end of the fuel line, and then slide it down the greasy valley pan without having to worry about getting anything inside of the fuel line. I also included a picture of my patented (not really but it sounds good) IP dowel pin alignment tool.

Today I installed a CDD IP, injectors, and return line kit. It's MUCH better than the very worn 6.9 IP that was on the truck this morning. It has instant throttle response so I had a hard time starting off from a dead stop on gravel without spinning tires. It made me a believer in the mighty power of a N/A IDI again. After I was done, I improved the looks of the truck a little bit more.
No replacement for displacement.. And new ip and injectors

I didn't really do anything special today. Just some grocery shopping. The story comes from when I first started the truck today. Rewind: the fast idle solenoid I put on the CDD IP was the one that I took off of the IP that I stuck on last December. It worked just fine. I removed it, used a wire wheel on a bench grinder, and polished the back of the mounting bracket where it contacts the IP and the spade where the power wire attaches. For some stupid reason, it wouldn't work no matter what I did on Saturday. I just decided to mess with it later because it was getting closer to time to go dove hunting again. I hadn't driven it since I got home Saturday night. This afternoon, the fast idle decided to work. When I put it on the new IP, I tilted it backward toward the back of the engine like I always do. I didn't think about how far the plunger stuck out. When the engine started, it went:peelout! And I went ! After almost soiling my drawers, I shut the engine back off and got a 1/4" wrench to adjust the plunger. Now the fast idle is about where I want it and I can go on about my life not thinking about that one again.
Just an anecdote to hopefully give someone a laugh and maybe learn a lesson too.LOL

I headed across town to LMC Truck and picked up a new hood/cowel seal. Some new side window seals and a 3rd brake light/cargo light. When I got there the power was out at the Ford warehouse but luckily the already had my order so me and the parts went to the Chevy warehouse about 5 blocks away to pay for them. Luckily I didn't have to take the ford parts into the Chevy warehouse so I avoid the parts starting beef with each other.

I took the cowel seal off and I figured out I had a leak in the wind shield seal so I had the take the trim off. Once I was that far, I had a new wiper motor sitting on the shelf for a while so it seemed like a good time to do that. I took off the cowel cover and it looked like the mouse version of Dirty Mike and the Boys had a party in there. I think it was carpet insulation and maybe some of the old foil insulation from under the hood and a mud dobber nest

Pulled the tow dolly out
Got the sammy out
White truck back behind the fence where the Sammy was

Today I drove to McCook, NE to pick up another riding mower so I can use the engine on mine since I got taken on it when I bought that one. This one doesn't have a deck so I'm not even going to try to mow with it. Too bad since it has a hydrostat. Overall, I'm only into this mower for $525 so that's not too bad at all in my book. The drive wasn't too exciting, but on the way back, I stopped at a gas station that I use almost every time that I go this way and I saw something that I haven't seen for a LONG time. I didn't see a coin slot or a coin return lever. It appears to be set up to use cards. The picture isn't real clear since it was taken through my windshield before I cleaned the bugs off AGAIN! -cuss

I didn't sleep very well last night so I was pretty tired by the time that I got back to Kansas. I decided that I'm old so I could just go home and take a nap. I stopped by my garage to grab some things that I didn't wan to leave out overnight. As I was stopping for the stop sign at the highway, my phone rang. It was a friend who had a broken down '99 Dodge Cummins again. I took my code reader to where he was at and the two codes both came back roughly saying that information isn't going between the ECM and the IP. He replaced the IP about 2 1/2 years ago, but bought one from Thoroughbred Diesel. He had called a somewhat local diesel shop and they told him that they wouldn't even open a IP from them. You can jumper two pins on the IP and get it to idle if the IP is good. we couldn't get it to even try to fire so he's pretty sure that the IP is bad. I pointed at my truck and told him that a Ford IDI is the only way to go. He said that he wouldn't mind having one for a second truck, but wanted a newer one for a main driver. He was wanting to try to buy a newer Ford with a 6.2 gas engine from a dealer in Holdredge, Nebraska, the same town that the diesel shop is in. Then I asked him if I needed to gran a trailer and take both him and the Dodge up there in the morning to buy a better truck. He wasn't impressed, but he didn't say no either. Another guy had stopped by with some longer jumper wires than what we had and we were talking to him. The Dodge guy said something about getting a $200 speeding ticket so I pointed at the Dodge and asked "in that?" No it was in his Ford with the twin turbo V6 that's still up in Nebraska from where he had recently tried to get a job. I do enjoy giving him a hard time about my IDI!

My '93 has had a Reading steel contractor's cap on it almost since new. The truck had major body work and repainting in 2005 at a local MAACO shop (long gone) at that time finances were very limited so I had the cap left alone and it's faded and dull now. Fast forward to September 2025. I stop at a busy body shop in town and they're not interested. They only use water based paint now. They refer me to their truck division. I go there. About $3,000 to remove the cap and fix a few rust spots and repaint it. They said if I bring it on Monday it should be ready Friday.
I ask the boss how he's set for help (every business is struggling here as Maine's work ethic has gone down the tubes since Covid-19 and the legalization of recreational MJ) The bosses eyes light up not understanding why I asked about his staffing situation and he asks, "do you know anyone?"... Sure enough since I dropped the truck off various help has called in sick - even the guy that initially gave me the quote. One day the parts guy is out, the next day the paint guy is out. Every work day some component of the staff is out "sick". To make matters worse this January Maine will require most private employers to provide paid sick leave. My experience supervising unionized government employees taught me that sick leave is often treated as PTO (vacation days).
Sure enough Friday comes and the truck is not ready. Maybe Wednesday of next week. We'll see. I'll post a picture when it's repainted.

As it turned out, this trip really was a good idea. The choke tube that I ordered online and paid extra for so it would be here by today didn't come in. It's been delayed in shipping twice so far! Thanks for nothing USPS! -cuss
At least I did get to use the gun this evening and was doing ok until a shell got jammed inside the action and wouldn't eject so I was reduced to the single shot AGAIN! I went with another couple of guys and one who was just an observer since he can't get a hunting license for another three years. We didn't make any all time high scores on birds, but we did have A LOT of fun. That's more important. One guy blew tail feathers off of at least 7 doves so he now has the title of Tailfeather King.
Do not ever use USPS to ship anything. If you get , you ae lucky.
I ordered 2 gauges from Speed Way Motors in Lincoln, NB.
SW Oil and Water Gauges. Oil was back ordered along with the Sender, but they sent the water gauge, it made it`s way to Gardnerville, Nv., but got sent back because Address was unknown. I have lived here 11 years. cookoo
Called Speedway, checked my address and was correct. Resent it and finally got delivered.

2 weeks later the oil gauge was restocked and sent. Same thing, address was unknown,
sent back. Called again, address rechecked and correct. resent gauge and finally was delivered to my address. How can USPS be so s cewed up?

I ordered a Power Master Starter, another time a Power Master Alternator, from Speed
Way both delivered,... but by UPS.

IDIBronco hope you get your package.
