I see an old Corn Binder on the other side. Don`t see those around any more. I have a 67 1 1/2 ton. 68 was last year of that body,Off to take a parts truck to scrap tomorrow and a 7.3 block to the machine shop
Here’s me and my buddies idi bulls for fun

I had a 1975 1/2 ton 4X4, 4 speed with a 345. It wasn't terrible. I got about 12 MPG out of that. It was GREAT compared to the 1975 F150 with a 429 that I had at the same time. That got about 6-7 MPG.Those were pulling engines but got 12 Gas Stations to the mile.
To throw out a story that's TOTALLY unrelated to my truck, I know a guy who has a 60's model Scout. All I now is that it has a V8 and an automatic transmission. That thing is completely rusted out at the back end, it looks like it should be on it's way to the crusher. One time, I was there talking to one of his sons. The owner came along, stuck a battery in the Scout, dumped some gas down the carb, and it started right up. It sounded good, other than a rusted out muffler, and didn't even smoke. He drove it forward and back a few times and shut it off. After that, I tried to convince them that they should shorten the frame and then put the son's 67 Mustang body on it. The Mustang was in good shape, it just didn't have an engine or transmission. It sounded good to me.I had a '67 Scout 800 in high school. Little 266 V8, 4 speed, 33 inch tires, and a 45 mile commute to school each day, one way. IH stuffed 9 gallon fuel tanks into the rear fenders of those things, one on each side. One of the tanks rusted out, and for a while I only had one functioning tank. I had to fill up EVERY day. Cold SOB in the Northern Minnesota winter too. It always started, even at -30 or colder, but I made that drive in a full pair of Carhart's many times.
