If you're unsure, you could always start your own thread. It could be a build thread or even just one to show us your truck and then update us on what you do with it. That may be "more appropriate" since you could keep it going as long as you wanted to.

Loaded up my Dad's car last night to take it to the shop. I'll be dropping it off today and picking up a Van to finish the engine swap in.

Sooooooo speaking of ignoring stuff until it breaks, had the most embarrassing and AVOIDABLE experience last night picking this otherwise easy job!!!

I sensed my batteries going. I ignored it.

I pull up to the customer house, shut off truck to asses where to pull trailer and jump their van to pull it onto trailer and my batteries too dead to start it.

I had to call my dad to buy me batteries and rescue me. I'm so embarrassed!! I'm pretty even with favors with my dad at this point but he definitely had better things to do on a Friday than sit in traffic and deal with my dysfunction!

Especially since I knew this was coming. I just thought I had a few more starts left.

Cobblers kids never have shoes and all that.

It's time to hang your head, break out the sackcloth and ashes...

Aren't dads wonderful? We'll do almost anything for our daughters. My daughter is staying with me now, for a visit of unknown duration, until her house is habitable again. She was evacuated due to the wildfire near Santa Cruz, and is not yet able to return. The fact is that she is extremely lucky to still have a house. The duff burned within feet of her house, and one area of the roof was singed. She is waiting for potable water before returning.

I took some time this morning and cleaned up the 6.9. I’m really excited to take the camper shell off this weekend because it’s just not really visually appealing to me, even though it was nice to camp in.

They're really handy when you need them, but kind of a pain in the rear when you don't.

I hauled my Dad's car to the shop, then before picking up the van I stopped by Runnings. Kinda like tractor supply but bigger. Scored 3 oil filters for $12! They're the same size as the FL1995. I ran one before without issue so figured it's worth buying them, especially since I have two of these trucks and FL1995 filters are $10/each at Walmart.

Tank hauled that van well but the old girl is definitely getting tired. Hopefully I can wrap enough stuff up this fall to start working on it in the spring.

Decided to smarten up today and do some work. Ugly Truck was kinda hard to start yesterday at only -5, so I hauled an extension cord waaaaay down (~15ft) plugged in the block heater and went in for breakfast. After two hours arduous eating, reading, staring at the wife inappropriately I went out and fired that sucker up.

Started like a champ so I reckoned I'd better at least look like I'm doing something and dragged out a well worn fridge box creeper, rolled under ugly truck and stared at it from below for a change, likely also quite inappropriately. After 20 minutes of daydreaming about snorkeling with sharks I figured I'd worked hard enough, rolled out, shut her down and retired to the promenade deck for refreshments. Damned tough work diesels.

Our camping plans for this weekend changed a little bit. we still went, but the location and the number of people changed. I went with a friend (Brandon) and his 12-year-old-next-weekend oldest daughter, Emma. Neither one had ridden a three wheeler outside of around their yard a week ago. They both did very well. Brandon's wife and two younger girls had to stay home. We were going up to the Nebraska National Forest (yes there is such a thing) outside Halsey, NE, but we ended up going 5 or 6 miles west of Dodge City, KS and rode in the dried river bed there. It was for the best with Emma since most of the riding isn't very difficult there. We rode for at least 6 hours today and we all had a blast. At one point, I found a big tumbleweed and stuck it on Emma's rear rack. We told her that she was now camouflaged from behind and she thought it was cool so she left it there for a while.

Took Diego to grab some tires for my tractor, ended up coming back with some extra parts for free too! Nothing major, an extra hub, and a couple generators that might fit the tractor.

After that I had to bail my buddy out. Unloaded the van I picked up yesterday and took Tank up to winch his blazer on the trailer and move it from his old apartment. That trailer was definitely a good investment!

That is so so so so so awesome! She's going to treasure those memories forever and I bet she enjoyed the one on one time with no siblings with her dad! It's hard for us to get one on one time with our girls and there are only two haha. That looks like a kick ass time!
