So i have noticed that when driving down the freeway about 55 mph, i notice a slight surge in power. Like it looses power a little then picks back up, sometimes feels like your driving and you get a huge headwind for a second that pushes you back. I dont think its my fuel filter as its pretty new, i changed it about 4 months ago?

Anyone have some ideas?

Very possibly your advance piston in your IP is worn. Your timing is fluxuating. This could be verified by someone with a dynamic timing meter. A very common issue, and depending on fuel and lubricant additives may happen sooner or later on almost any pump. The trained ear can hear the timing change if this is the cause.

If the truck is just sitting there and i hold the throttle at like idk 1700 RPMs would i expect to then hear the engine noise change a little, even at a constant RPM?
