The one I got for my 93 was almost too short. After weaving on I had to get my son in law to hold the tensioner while I pride it unto the alternator. I got it at o'reillys also. I wish it had been an inch longer.

please post the make and part # and it would be great to have the measurement as well if you wouldn't mind. My truck had sat sense 1995 or 6 no one no's for sure and the belt fell apart within a very few days so I didn't have a length ref. What did you mean you bought the proper tool to get it on easy?

OK I will do it when I get home, I am at work now. There is a special tool that allows you to squeeze the tensioner so one person can easily put the belt on. It really is easy with this tool plus the threading diagram and, of course, the right size belt! Look for example here
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...y Tools&psid=FROOGLE01&sid=IDx20070921x00003a
but any auto parts store will have it. You can get it from Nothern Tool for $15.

Performance Tool Serpentine Belt Tool, Model# W84010

Releases tension on serpentine belts with spring-loaded idler pulleys. Fits idler pulleys requiring 15, 16, 18mm hex or 3/8in. or 1/2in. square drive. Also includes 13, 14 and 15mm crowfoot wrenches.

great thanks everybody, the length would still be helpful though. I almost forgot to ask, what was the stealership price?

OK, Dayco 5061115. When I fold my belt in half, I measure 55 1/2 inches for the folded length. Keep in mind that I cannot press the ends perfectly flat, but pretty good. Beav has a good point, this is with air. Might be different without. I payed $24.79 in 2007. My local auto parts place is cheaper than a dealer but more expensive than Autozone (but you always get the right part).
