hey guys, I have a 91 f250 7.3 engine I took out of a parts truck. I threw it on a stand and began taking it apart and cleaning all grime and gunk off of it( planning on a rebuild in case mine ever gives up the ghost). But it's been sitting In my barn(7months) bare block with crank and pistons being the only things still in it.

My question is that there's some surface rust on it and in the cylinder walls. This weekend I coated them all with oil and turned it over by hand to lubricant everything. I put the heads back on and the intake manifold so I could move the heavy son of a gun. Will the surface rust ruin it? Or would a good cleaning and a hone job fix it back up? And could I do this job with the "****** berry" drill thingy?

If it's just surface rust you could take steel wool or a scotch bright pad and remove it. (Pistons need to be removed to do this)
