cheap out on engineering????! nope!
the fact that you get away with cutting corners don't make it right!
why even use a torque wrench if ya don't read the directions "once"?

in all honesty I've never interacted with many of the keyboard guru"s.... but I am willing to meet on their dime to prove the math to me.
no way the values are met dry.

BUT I'm starring at a pile of dead soldiers.....

I like to abide by the MANUFACTURERS
recommendations.

Did this go on both sides of the stud or just the nut side? Since there's a blind hole and the torque value isnt determined by the bottom hole torque. I'm all for doing what's right, i am still not sold on the engine girdle kit or piston shaving yet though haha.

Well he said an engine assembly lube can be used, not dry.

hmmmm,,,,thus he saves $$$, not adding packaging.this=bux in pocket, with a disclaimer????
Monsanto's rep told me at a plant nursery, they claimed in the 80's an individual could drink a qt of roundup and be fine,,,, read agent orange.
TRUTH IN advertising ... not so much.
now dry installs were common and worked fine. BUT.
as I recall studs are set into the bore run down and backed out a half turn with threadlocker?!

Yes, I ordered the ARP lube as well and will be using it when I finally get around to installing the studs. ARP did not spend all that R & D money just so someone could say "oh, that ARP lube isn't necessary". If you go back a number of years before the magic ARP lube, ARP required a re-torque procedure on the studs. With this new lube, ARP is confident enough to say in the install instructions that a re-torque is not required.

Are the blocks really that weak? I see benefit in an aluminum block but these blocks seemed pretty solid to me.

It was $22 for a 10 ounce bottle.... he could just mark them up to $580 and still sell them $30 less than summit, and be making $150 more than he is now.

I think 150ft lb is what they are supposed to be torqued to
