I always remove my own windshield. and check for rust behind it.
but for 220, I let them install it, and they even use new trim clips.
its not the windshield I worry about installing, its the damn trim.

^^^^ +1 all of the above. The cost also includes (well, it SHOULD anyway) cleaning up the old glass. And +10000 on NEW glass vs. old. It's about how it feels when you get new glasses with a better prescription and super-clear lenses.

I've finally gotten the hang of the trim; we take ours off now and then to clean out the pine needles that constantly fall from the trees next door. Cheapo Harbor Freight trim tool set FTW. But I'd still rather pay someone to do it as part of a windshield job.
