Im in the process of replacing my water pump on my '86 and while removing all the brackets some bolts broke off including one in the steering pump bracket. I just want to take it completely out so I can paint it and its easier for me to extract the bolt. Is there anything particular that needs to be done when removing the pump or just disconnect the hose to it? I have all the other brackets around it off already too.

Do you want pump off the bracket or removing bracket with pump attached cause two completely different scenarios

If you need to remove PUMP off bracket a PS pulley puller will be required to remove pump from bracket

If you are leaving pump on bracket just undo lines and yer golden.

Super simple

Im noticing on my power steering pump that the shaft with the pulley on it moves back and forth a bit. Not up and down just back n forth is this ok?
