Question for the older guys here about tires

You older guys will remember these old style tires:

These are Hercules HDT Bias lug tires, my question is, is there another brand that makes these with white walls? Big white line or white letters?

I know some made it way back when, but I haven't been able to find one of these old tires with a white wall to see who made it.

I'm young but I see these on hay wagons all the time! I think the ones I see are 15s tho.

I am a big fan of nylon bias tires; I very much prefer them over radials.

I have four 7.50-16 bias PowerKings across the rear of my F-350 that are nearing 100,000-miles with never even a slow leak.


I like the tread design on the Hercules, but I doubt it would wear as well as the directional lugs that I have.


Put a set of bias steer tires on the front of a truck, drive them for a few weeks, and then replace them with the best radials money can buy --- if there is such a thing.

I guarantee that with the radials back on, you will think something is bad wrong with the steering.


As for the white-walls, no LT-type bias tire is going to have them as the layer of white rubber weakens the sidewall.

Passenger bias are available with a host of white side treatments.

I have a pair of really old 15" tires for my F150 with that exact tread and probably better than 80% tread left. Very hard tires and they eat through snow better than a set of chains. Took them up to 50 MPH once and the truck was swaying pretty bad.....then I realized the pressure was only 20 PSI

I couldn't tell just by looking at them. They also had a tendancy to thump for the first mile or so then smooth out. You guys figure they are bias ply? I never checked.

IIRC, Some place I seen where you can get glue on whitewall's. I'm one of those old guy's 82 going on 49. I've got halfheimers so it takes me awhile to recall things.

If I knew what particular application that you wanted the white-wall tires for, I could better answer your question.
