It’s too soon to speak definitively for winter temps but a warm 35 degree day she starts fine so that’s a good sign! I do have to glow the plugs for two cycles of about 9 seconds

My thermostat seems to be stuck open, it’s running cold by the factory gauge but I can tell it’s really running cold via the heat vent temp and the actual by hand feel under hood temp and it smokes like it’s cold all the time, I really want some good aftermarket gauges but I’m always too busy spending my time and money on emergency repairs.

Good news though my CDD glow plug controller arrived!

I can't remember off the top of my head, but I haven't had that in my engines for years. They always seem to fall out.

Got the new thermostat in and replaced the coolant filter and now the heater works really well. The coolant filter seems to be working well I cut the old one in half for the purposes of science and the coolant that was in the truck was very clean and bright green.

Does anyone know what this little ball thing does?

It's to help purge the air out of the cooling system. In my opinion, it's optional.

Some of the wiring is getting a little out of control so that’s my next project.

I just got permission from my wife to order Billet aluminum injector return line rails to stop the eternal leaks!!!!
