Prefill torque converter?

Don't know about being mandatory , but putting a quart or two in is a good ideal , kind of like putting oil in a oil filter before putting in on. Put some in and roll it around to get oil into things , I just would not put so much in that it starts running back out is all.

I always add a few quarts to a converter and then will start the truck run through the gears and check fluid in trans top off and repeat till it stops dropping usually takes a little while

One quart won't hurt but filling it up 100% will make for a spill when you try to install. It's also heavy enough to handle without adding more weight.

Yeah I knew not to FILL it but didn't want to ruin it either, I knew adding a qt couldn't hurt but I really didn't know what the "right way" was. He left here about 30min ago and it was running great.
