Someone not far from me has a 93 F350 CC 2WD for $875, thinking about buying for parts but have questions for the OB.
This truck has a gas 460, thats rebuilt, btw.
Do all F350 have 3 leaf front springs??? Guessing the rear springs are better then my rear stock F250 springs???
How hard is it to make a 4WD trans from a 2WD???

If zf5, 2wd and 4wd are completely different. With the exception being a 2wd FSuper duty, it has a 4wd trans with a trans brake in place of a transfer case.
Can't remember, some 2wd F350 had coils instead of leaf springs.

converting a 2wd to a 4wd can be done pretty easily with the 2wd trans if you have a divorced transfer.
i have a 98 E-350 that i plan on using a NP205 in.
gotta find 05+ axles to do the swap.
if you were closer id give you this c-6/AODE wtfeveritis, without a transfer.

What exactly do you want to get off the donor truck? What transmission do you have in your truck? Is there any maintenance history on the donor truck, other than the rebuilt engine?

Crap, didn't mention it has a automatic trans...

To convert a auto 2wd trans to a 4x4 trans; Major dis-assembly required, you will be basically rebuilding the trans, using the require 4x4 parts for the rear section.

Haven't called the guy yet, but front & rear springs, the 4 door cab for a transplant, if the rear end has a "low" ratio like 3.73, 3.55, keep it and sometime find a front carrier with same ratio.
Maybe make a pickup box trailer out of the rear portion of this donor???
Trans & engine would get sold.

All 2wd trucks and vans use coil springs on the front, no leafs.

I've never sold a running 460 for less than $500.

I like keeping the rears out of them because they are normally not (as) worn out. Small block trucks are the ones I watch for if I need a rear.

You'll probably scrap the trans. Used 2wd 460 e4od, good luck on that sell.

So all said and done you'll probably have 3-400 in a bed, frame, cab, suspension, rims, axles, and all the other little parts you find yourself needing from time to time.

I don't suppose I'd be lucky enough to get a low geared rear end??? Or can there be low or high ratios???

The crew cab won't just drop onto an EC frame. The frame angles up just aft of the cab. You'd have to put the middle and front cab mounts on body lifts so it matches the rear mounts. And you'd have to cut a custom-length bed.

Yep been researching this idea for some time.
Basically short box.
Like the crewcab idea, don't like the length, won't fit in the garage.
