This is Bethan (Eric's wife)
Ya'll probably know that I have never posted on here but I started reading and wanted to let you know that the boys are out on a TEST RIDE. They got it all put together, put new oil and all in it and she is running like a champ! I know they have pictures but I just wanted to give you the "quick" version. Thanks to all for your advice, help, parts, etc....
They will fill you in shortly I am sure.

It lives!

Drove the truck tonight! :hail  ;Sweet

A rough idle at times. Probably trash in an injector or line. Major failure of the #5 lifter on the exhaust side. Pending failure of the intake lifter. The metal wire that retains the cap that the push rod sits in was almost gone on the intake. Cam looked good and so did all of the other lifters, push rods and rockers. As Eric mentioned, the turbo was a ***** getting off and on. (Why did it take 8 + hrs the first time it was installed? We did a R&R in less time!) Many, many thanks to all for the well wishes, phone calls, parts, and most of all to the Boutin household. BTW-Eric now has 30 amp service in the side yard for your camping pleasure! :rotflmao Here are some pics.

Yup. The boys did a super job. They called me last night so I could listen to it, but I didn't get a chance to post about it until now. I'm glad the Boutin's beat me to it, as it's really their victory story to tell. I assume now that the Lewis' have resumed their vacation journey, and will hopefully have an uneventfull remainder of recreational time. You could just hear the face splitting grin that Eric and Joe were wearing, as both had gone where they had never gone before, and I could sense the immense pride in their mutual acheivement. There IS a huge satisfaction in taking a despirate situation, and emerging from it better, and smarter than before. I think it goes a long way to describe the quality of individuals that are on this board. From the remote assistance, to the parts help, to the moral support, all are to be commended. Eric obviously gave up 3 of his own personal or vacation days so he could stay home and help Joe with his truck. I think that kind of dedication deserves a major award. ;Sweet
