Oil Cooler Question

I bought a new motorcraft oil cooler last summer and never got around to installing it. Found it on internet. Just walked out to garage and counted, it has 27 tubes / holes.

I don't think I need one (yet) but I looked it up and some sites say fits 1992-1997?
Other sites say 1984-1994?

The ones that say fits 1992-1997 are wrong. The oil coolers for the 7.3 PSD are a little bit longer than the ones for our IDIs. If you try to use one with IDI end caps. I'm thinking that it would be difficult, if not impossible, to get it bolted to our blocks. One for a IDI will work with the PSD end caps and will bolt to the engine just fine. From previous experience, it will work for a short time and then start pumping oil into the cooling system. At least that's what happened to us at the shop I used to work at.
