Anyone know the dash size or part numbers of the o-ring that seals the timing gear cover and the injection drive bolt cover or in this case the cdr adapter.

Yes, a tube of anaerobic gasket sealer. Lay a small bead in the groove and assemble ( clean the cover off with acetone, its the same as the high dollar activator they sell ). I've never seen one with an oring in it

Nope... That groove cut in the injection pump gear cover is for the top of the plate that covers the cam and crank gear. Make sure this area is clean. I use brake clean because it wont leave a film when it drys. Acetone will get into your system and it stays in your kindeys. If you use it just make sure you don't get it on your skin. This sealing area was sealed from the factory with rtv and nothing else... Just like the oil pan... Never had a gasket and never needs a gasket. If you have installed a oil pan gasket take it off and use rtv only. Otherwise you will have a leak sooner or later but it will leak....

Mine has a groove in the timing cover I assume for an o-ring probably 3/23 thick.

They all have that groove, however it is exactly like the straight grooves cut in the IP gear cover. It's more likely that the groove is there to help contain sealant ( sillyscum, etc, I just prefer anaerobic sealer. seals better and easier to clean up if you have to go in again )

Uh oh....for how long?!

I just had a mishap where I knocked a container of it over and rushed to clean it up...with bare hands and a rag...I was covered in the stuff.

But then againyou are talking to the guy that sprays his hands off with brake clean to answer the cell when it rings lol.

Sorry to say this but it never leaves your kidneys. It just continues to build up... Not a good thing at all....

Actually, the fear on acetone is a bit overrated. Your body produces ketone bodies all on it's own on a regular basis that are essentialy an even more potent version of acetone. One of the reasons the rumor about acetone not leaving your body came about. Really any time you eat a protein heavy meal with an absence of carbohydrate ,your body will produce massive amounts of these ketone bodies in order to be able to knock off an unneeded molecule from the protein and convert it internally to a carbohydrate so you can continue to function, otherwise you would run out of steam and your brain would have no fuel.( yeah, the nutty old hillbilly went to college to be a dietitian , what'll they think of next :rotflmao

I never thought you didn't know anything but gees... You continue to impress me robert....:D I get tested for ketones and other side effects to diabetes every time I se my Dr..I think its called acute ketone acidosis. I try to remember everything but... When I learn something new something old gets dumped.... Not enough memory I guess.....:rotflmao:D

Yeah, maybe time for some upgrades- :D
I can't even begin to estimate the thousands of gallons of acetone that I have had on my body over the course of the years. I used to practically bathe in the stuff several times a day. As a matter of fact there is such a thing as pharmaceutical grade acetone available for cleansing body parts afflicted with certain conditions, also food grade acetone of which one of its uses is processing kelp... So, next time you have some store brand (cheap) ice cream that has been modified with lecithin, you're ingesting a little of the stuff. However- acetone is a high solvent, so whatever chemical acetone is used to reduce (cut) or mixed with in the process of cleaning up/wiping down, becomes much more readily available for absorbtion through the skin... That's where the REAL problems can come from.

Hey, I've forgot a heck of a lot more than I'll ever remember LOL
They used to think it got stockpiled in teh kidney until they figured out the body was making the stuff faster than anyone could put it in. If I had a kid in medical school though, I'd tell them to specialize in renal disease because all the folks who went nutso over teh Atkins diet ( i.e. low and no carb ) are going to be suffering from kidney problems when they get older because they hammered their kidneys having to throw off all those extra molecules trying to make sugar in their body out of protein instead of just eating it in the first place , because without straight glucose, your brain would cease functioning cookoo not to mention that you need it for moving around. Proteins only are used to repair and build cells, you have to have carbohydrate for fuel so in teh absence of carbs, the body makes them out of Protein, and even fats, but it's heck on the kidneys long term. That's why they have to monitor it for folks with diabetes because the potential for overload is more common.

If you look around you'll find acetone used as an active ingredient in numerous medications like Absorbine JR liniment , it is used to open up the pores and get teh medication to absorb into the muscle tissue , Active ingredients :"The active ingredient in Absorbine Jr.® liniment is 1.27% natural menthol. Other ingredients include calendula extract, echinacea extract, absinthium oil, acetone, chloroxylenol, iodine, wormwood extract, potassium iodide, thymol, water and coloring agents FD&C blue number 1 and yellow number 6."
You'll find it in lots of liniments and used to aid in absorbtion for other medications that are absorbed through the skin

When I was young, I used to practically swim in the stuff doing fiberglass work on surfboards and boats. If skin absorbtion were a problem , they would have had to plant me a long time ago LOL
