So I have a 1984 3/4 ton Chevy I want to put a diesel engine in it. I want to do away with the 305 I put in it.
I need to know if the 6.2 or 6.5 diesel will bolt up to my turbo 400 transmission.

Any small block trans will bolt up.
But you need the diesel torque converter and valve body.

So I'll need the correct flywheel for the torque converter also???

Yeah, but it likely already have one.
They only came with like 4 automatics. The turbo 400, 700r4, and the 4l60e/4l80e.
If it's a 6.2 pre 90, it'll likely have the right one on it.

Specs dor the torque converter. I gave away the one I had with the original 350 that was in it. I went ahead and used what was on the 305 cuz I needed the truck in a hurry.

Advanced auto has one. It's GM3 right under $100.
Flexplate is Z-135 for about $40.

Valve body is actually the same.
If that's the correct 305 tc, it'll work. Has the same stall.
