LOLLOLLOL I'd say you got it down pat!

There is a lot of road debris and other stuff on the roads here. Even down the I-15 to california.

As for driving like a old man, i've actually rigged up my turn signals to flash both when I need to turn. Want to know which way i'm turning? That's for you to figure out. I also have a 32' foot box trailer that I regularly haul single pieces of fruit and a pair of tube socks back to the vendor in it (only one at a time, can't over load the axles mind you) cause they don't make em like they used to. I also find the middle of the road taking up a couple lanes the most comfortable to drive. No one has worn grooves in the road, and no funny bumps to inflame my butt arthritis. It's a delicate balancing act you see? I start my turns 20 miles back at 5 miles a hour. 3 miles/hour if I feel the traffic around me is out to get me.. If a kid on a tricycle goes by me, this affects my handling due to the wind draft and I must stop and painstakingly recalculate what I am trying to accomplish. This I turn my head lights on for. Frank sinatra at this point appears next to me, advising on the fruitless ethics of kids nowadays, and how he didn't need a tricycle to feel fulfilled. A string and rock on the end provided hours of fun.... Now where was I, oh shoot... My letter to the editor is still not complete. Who is honking behind me? Why can't people have respect! You are all nuts. Get off my asphalt lawn! :backoff

Mine had grandpa style flaps bolted right to the bumper when I got it. It took me a year to remember to take them off. (TRANSLATION: The girl I was starting to date made fun of them)

Agreed...often as not, mud flaps look silly on an SRW truck, but when properly sized and mounted on a DRW truck, they look like they belong there ;Sweet

Thank you, Tim. I was getting worried. I need the mudflaps to help protect the tail end of the cabover camper from some of the road spray. Any help will be appreciated.;p

If I have the mudflaps do I have to drive at 45mph? You mean I have to speed up?:eek:LOL

If you're going for the authentic Olde Mans Truck look you can bolt them straight to your bumper. But then you'd be committed to putting reflectors on them, then conspicuous tape on your running boards, extra lights on the top of your tailgate, and driving a max speed of 45mph in a 70 zone AND driving for miles with your left turn signal on.

Don't forget pics! ;Sweet
Lol mine had all that stuff! Even had reflective tape in the fenderwells and hubcaps!

I guess that makes me a wucker, lol. I would prefer some IH logo flaps though. I got these battery box flaps from the local Pete dealer many years ago.

Mine are bolted to the middle of the bumper with some 2" flat stock and a little tab on each end attached to the bed for support.

All i've found online so far is white ones. Not too bad looking, but the black looks better imho. Seen some regular "International" ones with the star on the right, commonly from the 90's for their logo. Not too shabby, and a close match!

http://www.iowa80.com/DirectionsWEB...=29445&itemdesc=Black+Poly+Mud+Flap+-+24"x30"

and the IH's:

I've always wondered though (and it's probably nit picking) why owners of "Non IH" products put a IH logo on the truck. Hear me out...

1985 was the last year "International Harvester/IH" "made" engines for ford. After that, in 1986 it became International Truck and Engine corporation, or just International. Or Navistar/International. however you want to call it.

Color me strange, but anything after 1985 looks strange with a IH logo on it. Definitely anything 1995+ looks even weirder! Yeah the powerstroke is technically "IH" but only in distant spirit.

Maybe i'm too strange! To me it's like putting a chevy engine into a ford. Wrong application! I like some of the powerstroke logos, even have a 7.3 set off a vehicle I found in a junkyard, but it would be very strange putting it on my truck! Wrong engine, and even if I had a 7.3 idi, it's still not a power stroke!

*Creaks on a cane* Maybe I am old!

edit: should mention my brain is wired to be "stock" with a vehicle. If I do custom mods, I try my best to make it look stock/period. I have some IH logos off scouts (the metal type) i'll be putting on my fenders. yeah it's ford, but a IH heart clatters underneath the hood it's bolted on...

Power stroke is definitely still an international.

Lesson of the day, IH cast a lot of engines. Chrysler has engines, CUMMINS, all ford diesels up to the 6.7 iirc maybe the 6.0 was last. Can't remember.

I need some for my flatbed.

I know they did. the last engine international cast for ford was the 4.6? powerstroke. forgot the CID. was a V6 for a small box truck type of chassis/landscaping company type of chassis.

The whole name change thing is what I find strange. being that a IH logo on anything past 85 is odd. Same company I know, just a name change. but odd

I'm thinking because everyone knows/trusts the IH name.
I've seen some that say navistar.
I think my psd does.

And usually takes awhile to get name changes through.
Especially stuff with patents.

Actually,

The International Truck and Bus Corporation is the only part of the original International Harvester (FARMALL) from the turn of the century. In 1985 when the IH Ag division was sold off to Tennaco (J.I Case) the International Harvester and IH "Man in the tractor" logo was sold to Tennaco. This is why the Engine, Truck and Bus company changed their name to Navistar, and then back to just International after they nearly went under with the name change. The last year I know I have seen the IH logo on and IDI was an 86 6.9, the 87 6.9 may have, but I have only seen Navistar on 7.3 IDI. The last IH/Navistar engine used in the Fords was the 6.4 through 2010. The new 6.7 engine is an in house Ford designed and built diesel. Also read an article that the 2016 medium duty F-Series (F-6,7,800) trucks are coming back in-house for Ford and will no longer be manufactured by Navistar as they are now.
