those are some nice gauges , ill stick with my dummy sticks though , they haven't lied to me yet.

Really....:dunno:D They are not telling you anything important... Say.... Hot hot is the coolant when the pointer is on the "M" in the word normal.... Whats the oil pressure on a gauge that can't tell you what the pressure is because its not designed to do that... Not trying to tel you anything you shouldn't already know about these factory gauges... Ask around how they don't really tell you anything important about the condition you are operating in.... Aftermarket is the only way to actually know whats going on.... The dash looks nice but its not worth using... Mine still functions just because I found out how to make them work with all the aftermarket gauges...:sly

i would like more torque because i have 3.31 geared rearend and a c6 for good freeway travel, however with this combo there isnt much pulling power. Or how about a non electronic overdrive trans adapter? like the AOD or GM 700R4? I know theese can be built tough for a stock IDI.

With that 3:31 rear you don't want the torque to be high enough to tow heavy. The trans first gear won't take it. Thats the voice of personal experience speaking. You will need some kind of under drive for starting off, especially on any kind of grade. Its just too ******* the first gear after a while it will start chattering. Then gpo for more torque, your C6 will thank you,

id get moose ip type4s cam and high pop injectors around 2100 psi
then add a turbo of youre choice and youll be fine with that truck
if you want to tow a lot more get 4.10s and a gv

or do as i got a stroker kit my engine is 7.6l and it makes a world of difference
with a bad ip timed to - something and fuel screw untouched open exhaust and 3 in tall air cleaner i keept up going up hill with
a stock na truck with good ip and fuel screw cranked open exhaust with e4od

I will post something about the factory gauges, the day before i stopped driving the grey truck it was getting hot, i have all the factory gauges hooked up and aftermarket ones as well, we will start with oil pressure no matter if its idling at the 5psi it holds or driving down the road at 15 psi it always stays at the n of normalcookoo

Tim for coolant temp gauge, hottest i saw the truck get the other day was 260 degrees:eek::eek: guess were the factory gauge was! just setting on the L of normal! that is not a working gauge that is trash that will let you blow an engine up before you know anything else, and the coolant and oil both have new senders

Ok mudduck... I'm just concerned that you believe a known bad gauge setup. I too still watch mine as kinda a backup to an actual reading instrument.:D

If you see the temp gauge slightly move you shuld pull over, i think at the R of normal it was already 240 degrees:eek:

Why do you want to pop them so high? I have mine set at 1900 to 1950 psi. Not sure why one is better than the other. You know?

Yes... The higher pop pressures make for a finer atomized fuel spray so it ignites easier but... Too high of a pressure and the pump will wear out much sooner. The electronic diesels from the big three all pop at 20,000 lbs or higher and they have multi port nozzles. The nozzles have micrscopic ports in them. Some aftermarket injectors pop at 40,000 lbs....

I have 2300 psi pops in mine:D make for a different idle than the standard seems to work great for me

Mudduck... Thats not an oil pressure gauge... Thats an idiot lite with a pointer....:D Heres an oil pressure gauge.... when it works....
I had a oil pressure gauge with the plastic line and when it got brittle, it cracked, spewing hot, stinky oil all over the interior...:puke:

And me...-cuss

I'm going to use the one that comes with a braided line next time...

Hmmm, maybe the stroker crank is a piece of the puzzle we're missing.:sly Does anybody else have experience with this mod? It makes sense to be a natural fit, especially for torque. If it dropped the cr down to 19:1 or so that probably would help too.

Makes sence. I was not thinking about it that way, but if that is the case, why not make our injector tips bullet shaped with multi ports and keep the pop pressures the same:sly.

What is the highest it should be prior to damage to the pump? I always thought the higher ones were the "G" codes that were supposed to be for the emmisions.

Kinda what im thinking go around 19:1 compression studded everywere, a turbo upgrade thats good for 25-30psi of boost, and enough fuel to turn the sky dark, i know mine turns the sky dark at most boost ranges it clears up slightly when passing 20psi but not much:sly
