Is there a big difference in the pumps depending on engine size/power ? If I used a pump for an NT855 (big cam) on an L10 (assuming that it fits physically) ? I know the 855 is 14litre as opposed to 10.

No it will not work. The pump is calibrated/timed/metered for the engine and injectors for its application.
