I'm going to call Mel tomorrow but I am having some problems with my new pump. It idles great but when I drive I can only build 7 lbs of boost and then the truck just falls on its face. It won't rev up past like 2500 rpms when I drive. I thought it was my waste gate so I put a valve in and it still having the same problem. :dunno

put a gauge on the filter head before you call Mel, without this we are doing nothing more than guessing.

Filter(s)? Lift pump? Just had a plugged up filter the other day. Was fine to 2000 RPM then was slow and a bit stumbly at times above that. Fresh filter with 50/50 diesel kleen/ATF and back to normal.

Our engines can and will run 180 degrees out of time!! That means if someone did not know about the "Y" and Dot marks on the cam gear they might have mistimed the gears. This has been found on a few engines in the past. Being 1 or 2 teeth out of gear time can change timing a lot too.. Bring the damper timing line up to the short fat probe location at the timing tab at the damper. Then remove the front cover and look at the injection pump gear. See if the drive pin is in the 4 o clock position.

Are you sure that the throttle is going wide open, have someone push the in cab foot to the floor, then look if the IP is wide open.
