Looking for pictures of banks DP firewall massage

Hi Gang! Like it says, I hope that somebody whose "massaged" their firewall to fit the banks downpipe could post a picture or two. TIA!

I did this to mine to make the ats 3 inch on my 088 fit, I can take a picture but the turbo and downpipe are in the way of seeing how I pushed it back. It doesn't take much to do it if you see where your factory downpipe routs now at the first bend of the fire wall near where the clamp goes to the down pipe and exhaust housing there is a seam basically you kinda make Flatish by " massaging" it back with a large bar or pipe. I think I used a breaker bar or larger pry bar to do mine

Here is a picture from underneath the truck. You can see the cuts I made in the seam with a reciprocating saw. I then bent the seam out of the way where the exhaust pipe needed to go.

Thanks bbjordan. I was also going to suggest making cuts in the seam (called a pinch weld). I guess you beat me to it.

Thanks! That's what I was looking for. It doesn't look like a to tough a job. What did you do for your exhaust system? Fully fabricated or did you start with a kit? I'm considering the banks DP mated to a Diamond eye 4" kit. Any suggestions or information you'd care to share would be much appreciated!

I used a complete 4" stainless Diamond Eye kit for 1999 powerstroke which includes a 3" DP. The only piece I had to mod was the DP and it was slight. Think I made a small pie-cut to create a different angle off turbo then welded it shut. Kit designed for Powerstroke exhaust fit perfectly even the hangers.

In conjunction with the banks DP and after some cutting, it will go together with a slip fit. Sound good?

my latest one, i didnt cut the pinch weld at all. a hydraulic jaw on a port a power does a wonderful job of just pushing it backwards and folding it around. cant get any pics though, wont be able to see it with it all together.

Thanks! That's ok on the pictures, I think I've got the idea. Now, if I just had access to a porta power...
Any suggestions for the exhaust system?

on my old 94 i ran a diamond eye kit for a 97 truck. cat back. made an adapter pipe to fit the goofy sized sidwinder downpipe to the 4 inch diamond eye. i ran a dual output system, came out each side under the tail lights. no muffler. sounded perfect.
