Lazy man fuel switch repair

My fuel switch works for the feed, but the return is ng. I ran a hose from the engine to the rear tank filler, when im on the front tank, which has no gauge, it fills the rear as well while its running At least I can run the big rear and have an emergency reserve! ( Till the fuel switch ***** completely)

Why not just bypass the valve and carry a 5 gallon jug of fuel for emergencies?

Yes if somebody wasnt aware of the setup, you could run-on the front tank and overfill the rear. The idea is to use the tank with the gauge and have the ability to use the other in an emergency till, i drop everything and repair
