I got one of the starters from the link below, and it's a nice, powerful, NEW, offset gear reduction unit with a spec sheet from bench testing. $86.50 and FREE shipping (took 3 days) PLUS a 1 year warranty. It was easier to get the top bolt in too! Install was easy, just make sure its seated on the adapter plate before torqueing down all the bolts. It can snag the ring gear if you let it hang off a couple bolts.

I am not a vendor, nor am I affiliated with the seller... just a satisfied customer trying to spread the word about a screaming good deal!

Think I'm up to a half dozen or so over ~10 years. Only real problem I've had is one of the more recent ones seems to have been setup wrong and wouldn't engage all the way causing it to grind every so often.... not happy about that, but it may also have been partially normal wear on the ring gear.
