Hmmmm.... took me a while to see this thread. Do I confirm, deny, or plead the 5th? Well, Travis has no pictures, so I could say it was not true. But, it went like this. I figured if Travis was willing to drive 40 minutes out of his way for a personal swonking, I could at least see what it was that made him follow the anti-Christ. Even with the lateness of the hour, I felt no compelling urge to go out and get one. The ride was similar to that other "incident" with the PSD last summer. Again, I was just placating my host and felt compelled to humor their desire to try and convert me. Once again, I was unmoved, thus reassuring my followers of my sworn allegiance. The Cummins was noisy, and idles too high to sound like anything other than a high stung dog panting. The display of power was impressive, but I'm not sure it was very practicle. His EGT's shot off the gauge, and the RPM's needed to produce it are well above what Cummins intended. I'd say the engine has one piston in the grave already, and given Travis' penchant for bringing out the worst in an engine, we will see how long he keeps it. The Darkside 466 I drove out there to meet him was much more entertaining, and I'd much sooner have one of those in my truck (if it could ever be shoe-horned in) than one of those little 5.9's. Let's face it, there are 4 cylinders out there that make more horsepower (albeit at over 6000 RPM). I really don't see what all the fuss is about.
