My dads name is not steve, BUT The person I am getting the truck from, His son in laws name is steve, he owns a auto shop down in Ridgecrest. He also races in NHRA, you might know him...

I used to live in Ridgecrest. Still have a good friend there. If you need machine work, you can't go wrong with Bobby Cramm, if he is still there.

We raced Bracket 1 with a front engine dragster. Orange Crusher sounds familiar, but this was in the early 90's. I also built Cobra replicas in Ridgecrest for a while.

It must be a 6.9 then because he didnt say it had a new or different motor in it. I was wondering which motor (6.9 or 7.3) was better because I thought he said it was a 6.9. His Grandson ( who does not know diesels) sad it was a 7.3 but I think he is wrong. Can I get as much hp out of the 6.9??? I am new to the diesel scene.... I know I dont want a powerstroke though lol:cool

I prefer the 6.9 engine over the 7.3 engine. They are pretty much identical engines, but the 6.9 is less prone to cavitation problems. I've got a 6.9 and thinking about the rocker arm upgrade on mine. When people ask about HP on these engines, I laugh. We can't produce the HP numbers of a Cummins, Duracrap, or Powerjoke, but these trucks came from a time when trucks were used to WORK without breaking, and HAUL without squatting like a girl peein in the woods.:D
Remember, HP is how fast you hit the wall... Torque is how far you move it!:rotflmao (Quoted from a signature I saw on here)

That's disgusting! That truck looks brand new. :puke:

$1600 would by me a running IDI, but it wouldn't be something you would want to push your finger against very hard.

i paid 900 for mine, i will post pics some time if i find the camera:mad: and its not a piece of crap truck i got it at a public auction.

i also prefer a 6.9 over a 7.3, my dad has a 7.3 and i have 6.9 mine will run circles around his all day, his i dont know it just aint got the same power, i have modified a few little things, but i dont know what kinda power its making, i might dyno it one day.
