Is the mechanical fuel pump on the 6.9 capable of sucking through a dual filter setup?

No experience on an IDI setup, but with several old gas pickups and very high micron filters. Added filters to catch fuel tank rust. Works fine as long as the filters are brand new clean, but even after just a short amount of time there would be a fuel restriction with little to no visible stuff in the filters.

Those particular 2 micron filters flow really well for 2 micron, but anywhere near 0 degrees F and they get plugged/severely restricted.
