Hi all,
Could someone please tell me the purpose of the two spade connectors on the top of the IP: one has a single wire, the other two wires crimped into the one spade connector.
Thanks in advance for any info provided.

The one with the single wire is the FSS (fuel shutoff solenoid) that turns the fuel off whn de-energized to stop the engine.
The one with two wires is the connection to the timing advance solenoid and then out to the high idle solenoid. There is a sensor (near the thermostat) that triggers this circuit at less than 112*F so the timing is advanced and the idle is kicked up a few hundred RPM for cold starts.

Thanks,
You mention the thermostat... I need to install a coolant temp gauge, would it be best to install a "T" at the thermostat in order to do this? I see a plug at the top of the water pump... I was going to install the sensor there... any suggestions?
Cheers!
